These are the abnormal numbers from the labs I found the other day…
Red Blood Cells: 3.92
reference range: 4.04-5.48
Hematocrit: 35.0
reference range: 37.7-47.9
optimal female value: 42
“Anemia can also cause a low hematocrit level.” ~MedFriendly.com
Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin: 34.9
reference range: 27.0-31.2
optimal adult value: 30
” Generally, if the MCH level is over 34, this is considered to be too high. The main reason that the MCH level would be too high is because of macrocytic anemia. Macrocytic anemia is a blood disorder in which not enough red blood cells are produced, but the ones that are present are large (thus fitting more hemoglobin). Macrocytic anemia is often caused by having too little vitamin B12 or folic acid (a type of vitamin) in the body.” ~MedFriendly.com
Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration: 39.1
reference range: 31.8-35.4
optimal adult value: 34
“Generally, if the MCHC level is over 36%, this is considered to be too high. One reason that the MCHC level would be too high is because of spherocytosis. Spherocytosis is the presence of spherocytes in the blood. Spherocytes are types of red blood cells that contain an abnormally high amount of hemoglobin. If the hemoglobin is not stable, this can also cause the MCHC level to be too high. See the 1st section of this entry for a description of hemoglobin.” ~MedFriendly.com
Mean Platelet Volume: 11.4
reference range: 7.4-10.4
“High MPV can cause a person to be at a higher risk for strokes and heart attacks. ” ~WikiAnswers.com

Hiya - yep your bloods look like you may have mild to moderate HS. Best thing is to get your doctor to get a osmotic fragility test and a coombs test. I have HS, my Mum and Sister and her two kids as well. I had my spleen out when I was 6 and my sister and Mum as well. My Mum was first in her family to show with it. Its an OK disease to live with once you know what it is. Best of luck and if you have questions feel free to email me. :-) Keep you in our prayers
